Giving your pages and products prominence on sites which have large audiences increase the chances of you getting visits back.
Social media websites like Facebook, Flickr, Bebo, Twitter, Del.icio.us and LinkedIn have huge audiences - they talk, share links, make recommendations. We want social networkers to be talking about and linking to your business.
Driving social media engagement from your own site
A good social media startegy will drive traffic to your website, but for it to work at its best, you'll need to drive engagement with social networks from your own site. One of the easist ways to do this is by using Post/Share/Bookmark links, which allow your users to integrate pages from your site into their online social profiles and postings. You can see these at the foot of most of the pages on the miggle website.
From time to time, we'll post pages from our own website to our Facebook group and profiles. In terms of what we get back? Facebook is the second biggest referrer of traffic to the miggle.co.uk website.
Where to start with social media?
There are many different social networks and sites - some will be of more use to your business than others. A simple example: If you sell soft furnishings, driving links to Bebo, a social networking site popular with kids, is unlikely to get you much traction. Creating a presence on eBay might be a better bet.
The migglemedia team has a clear understanding of what kind of audiences reside in various social networks and can help you choose the best ones to work with, as well as helping you create an effective and compelling presence tailored to each audience.
Don't hold back from social media, get out there!
