This week saw the launch of our first client redesign, cosmofil.com. cosmofil is a travel business promoting communication in local languages and cultural exchange. Aimed primarily at language learners the site offers a range of hosts who can offer a range of experiences to travellers that they might not get elsewhere. Over the last year cosmofil had tested their idea and wanted to move their business to the next stage, which is where we came in. The first thing we needed to do as part of the project was put cosmofil in control of their site. Basically the old site was a static HTML site which provided no opportunity for the business owner to manage updates. The new site gives the business the ability to edit existing pages, add new ones, as well as to be able to review, amend and publish applications from potential hosts. Technically we achieved this by building a simple CMS in PHP/MySQL which publishes content to a series of XHTML templates.

Over the coming months we’ll be working closely with cosmofil to help them build their business, as well as give them guidance on how and when to manage site developments in line with the businesses growth and its objectives. Find out more about the project.
